Please get in touch<\/a> with me and we can discuss how to bring your project to life. I will create a printing plate from your design and use oil-based ink on an etching press to print the desired number of prints on Hahnem\u00fchle copperplate paper. I can produce both digital and analogue images as photogravures for you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A commissioned project is divided into the following stages:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Vorbereitung und Beschichtung der Kupferplatte und der Probeplatte mit dem lichtempfindlichen Photopolymerfilm.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Editing your image in Photoshop and producing a test print of your image on a transparent polyester film for contact exposure with the printing plate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. Test exposure of the printing plate under vacuum in a UV contact exposure unit using an aquatint screen for the black areas, followed by exposure of the printing plate with your image. The exposed test plate is then developed in a soda bath; it is rinsed and the photopolymer layer is cured in a vinegar bath.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. Moistening the intaglio paper, applying Charbonnel intaglio oil paint to the proofing plate, wiping the proofing plate with a wiping cloth, printing the proof on the etching press.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. Review of the proof.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. Editing of the image file in Photoshop and final printing of your image onto a transparent polyester film for contact exposure using the printing plate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. as in point 3: exposure and development of the final printing plate.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. as in point 4: printing of the first final proof on the etching press.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. Repeat step 8 for further prints.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    The smallest copper plate measures 15 x 22.5 cm and is printed on Hahnem\u00fchle paper in the size 28.5 x 38 cm. The largest copper plate measures 40 x 60 cm. The price for a photogravure starts at \u20ac285.00 for one print from the 15 x 22.5 cm plate. Each additional print from the same plate (15 x 22.5 cm) costs \u20ac38.00. Prices are tiered depending on the size of the copperplate and the number of prints. I would be happy to provide you with a non-binding quote.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
